When Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput welcomed their second baby on September 5, their fans couldn't have been happier. While their daughter Misha had already grabbed the fans' attention, their newborn son, too, seems to be the talk of the town now.
The couple had named their daughter Misha, an amalgamation of their names, but when they announced the birth of Zain, fans wondered as to what led them choose this name. Shahid's mom, Neelima Azeem, recently opened up about the decision of naming the little one Zain in an interaction with Mid-day. She shared that the name has been in the family's mind for a long time and in fact, she also has a nephew with the same name.
She has been quoted as saying, "I think it is the name that has been running in everybody's mind for a long time but obviously, it was his parents who decided to call him Zain. But this name has been there in the family. I have a nephew with the same name. It is a beautiful name.”
Neelima also shared that the family members, including the new parents, are on cloud nine with the arrival of the baby. She said that it's been a joyous time for the family and the fact that Misha now has a baby brother to play with. She said, “It's been joyous. the family is complete, Shahid and Mira now have a beautiful son and a daughter.. so it feels great. Misha has got a young brother and we have got wonderful grandchildren, so the feeling is difficult to describe in words but I guess, I feel on the top of the world and very grateful. It is very exciting as there is so much to do."
Shahid had taken to Twitter to announce the big news and soon after, several congratulatory messages started to pour in. The actor later thanked all his fans, followers and well-wishers for sending love to the family and blessing the little one. He had written, "Zain Kapoor is here and we feel complete. Thank you for all the wishes and blessings. We are overjoyed and so grateful. Love to all."
